Craft Connections
Coffee, conversation, and creative practice, supporting connection through shared making.

These sessions are open to women seeking a gentle, creative, and socially connected space to spend time making in community.
What to expect in our drop-in sessions:
- Bring your own craft or art project to work on, or simply sit and observe
- A relaxed setting with coffee, conversation, and making
- Gentle facilitation and optional creative guidance
- A supportive, respectful and inclusive group environment
- No prior experience is needed
Pencils and paper are always available.
You’re welcome to have a conversation with facilitator, artist and social worker Susan if you’d like support in challenging yourself, developing your ideas, or exploring a new craft or creative direction.
Our Craft Connections sessions are FREE and run on Thursday afternoons, from 12:30 to 2:30pm.
Meet Susan

Susan Hauri-Downing brings together social work and creative practice. Her work explores our relationships with the natural world, including how we experience change and loss, and how we care for other living things.
She works with individuals and groups to create safe, supportive spaces for creative expression, using art to connect, reflect, and learn about the world around us.
With over 20 years of experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, Susan takes a trauma-sensitive approach grounded in care, creativity, and supporting wellbeing, for both people and the environments we are part of.
