Women’s Health Week 2025
On Friday 5th September, we held another special get together to celebrate three decades of supporting women in the East Metropolitan region, with our life members, staff, board, and other special community partners and friends in attendance.
We also used the occasion to reflect on Women’s Health Week 2025, with the theme “Say yes to you”, and Friday’s focus, “Be kind to your mind”.
To begin the afternoon, one of our counsellors facilitated a relaxing mindfulness session, promoting gentle breathing and presence. It was a highlight of the day, leaving everyone feeling calm and uplifted before connecting over coffee, cake, and conversation.
We also invited everyone to take part in a wellbeing wheel activity, encouraging self-reflection on how they are prioritising the different aspects of their health – including physical, social, spiritual, and, importantly, mental wellbeing – in alignment with the day’s theme.
Our self-kindness tree encouraged writing a kind thought, affirmation, or self-care tip on a leaf to share on the tree. This provided a lovely visual reminder of collective care and encouragement.
It was another wonderful afternoon of celebration, reflection, and gratitude – honouring our milestone and spending time with those who have made it all possible.
We also wanted to use the opportunity to remind our community to continue to “Say yes to you”, and that we are always here to support them in doing so.
